Rhodophyceae: Rhodophyceae (or Rhodophyceae) are a class of Rhodophyta, that is to say "red algae".
This taxon was described by Thuret in 1855. The description was reformed by the botanist Gottlob Ludwig Rabenhorst (1806-1881) in 1863. Sina M. Adl et al.1 proposed another reform in 2005.
This taxon no longer exists in the classification proposed by Yoon et al., 2006, and is replaced by Rhodophytina.
