Petit Maure (Le): Le petit Maure was a cabaret created in Paris in 1618, at the corner of rue de Seine and rue Visconti. It was frequented by the writers Car, Théophile de Viau, Colletet, Tallemant des Réaux and especially Saint-Amant, who, it is said, died there in 1661 as a result of a violent beating caused by one of his epigrams.
