Bernis (Pierre de): Pierre de Bernis is a French diplomat (Saint-Marcel-d'Ardèche 1715 - Rome 1794). This protege of Madame de Pompadour, who became a cardinal, was also ambassador in Venice, then in Rome to the Holy See.
