Tundra: nf (word from Russian tundra, Lappish word).
The tundra is a steppe in the arctic zone, between the taiga (*) and the polar limit, whose ground is deeply frozen for part of the year, and which is characterized by plant associations of mosses and lichens, heather and some herbaceous plants.
(*) Coniferous forest, interspersed with peat bogs, which borders the tundra in North America and Asia.
