Resolvin: Resolvins are molecules derived from omega-3 fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). They are produced by the COX-2 pathway. Experimentally, resolvins reduce inflammation by inhibiting the production of inflammatory molecules and the migration of inflammatory cells to the lesion site. They have shown efficacy in the case of renal insufficiency.
