Pyrimidine: Pyrimidine (or 1,3-diazine) is an aromatic heterocyclic nitrogenous molecule (C4H4N2) close to pyridine and comprising two nitrogen atoms. It is also the positional isomer of pyridazine (1,2-diazine) and pyrazine (1,4-diazine). In a broader sense, its derivatives with pyrimidine bases are also called pyrimidines.
