Procyanidins: Procyanidins or procyanidols are condensed tannins formed by flavanol units of catechol and epicatechol type.
By boiling in an acid medium, they release a red pigment, cyanidol (an anthocyanidol).
They are the most abundant proanthocyanidols in plants, followed by prodelphinidols.
