Fruitier: nm A fruitier is a place used, in the countryside, for the preservation of fresh fruit (mainly apples and pears, but also grapes, quinces, nuts and picked fruits, some of which are only eaten overripe). The fruit tree must be fresh and airy, with moderate humidity. It is equipped with shelves and racks lined with straw or fern leaves, on which the fruits are placed without them touching each other, and without them being directly exposed to the rays of the sun.
