Erucic acid: Erucic acid or 13-dococenoic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid found in rapeseed, plants of the genus Erysimum, and mustard seeds, of which it constitutes 40 to 50% of the acids fat from oil.
Erucic acid has the chemical structure CH3(CH2)7CH=CH(CH2)11COOH. Its trans isomer, trans-13-dococenoic acid is also called brassidic acid.
