Divinity: nf (word coming from the Latin divinitas, from god).
The word “deity” has several meanings:
1. Divine essence, nature of God, of the Supreme Being.
The divinity of the Word, of Jesus, in the Christian religion.
- Quotation from the French philosopher and moralist Blaise Pascal (1623-1662): “Man in the state of grace is rendered as similar to God, and participating in his divinity”.
2. Divine being (goddess, deity, god; spirit, nymph).
