The verb “discover” has many meanings:
I) Transitive verb:
A. Remove what covers, protects.
1. Strip of what covers.
Uncover a casserole by removing the lid (open).
Uncover a car by folding down the hood (recover).
2. Things: Let see; to show.
Dress that uncovers the back (stripping).
The dog bares its fangs.
3. Absolute: The sea discovers, it withdraws...
