The verb “take” has several meanings:
1. To lead with oneself (someone, an animal) while going from one place to another; take with you when you leave.
I take little luggage, but I take my dog.
Take the prisoner away.
2. Take (someone) with you when going (somewhere: place, meeting, show).
Take me to the countryside, to the cinema.
