sapote : La sapote est le fruit of arbre (Family of Sapotaceae - Last Name botanique : Pouteria sapota), which can reach a height of 15 to 45 meters and grow in tropical climates. It is found in Mexico, Reunion, the West Indies, and southern India. It gives a fruit known as sapote, big sapote, cream sapote or mamey sapote, measuring 10 to 25 cm in length, 8 to 12 cm in width, whose pulp is red-orange in color. In Mexico, its fruit is called mamey (be careful not to confuse it with mamma americana ou Apricot-country) or tetzonzápotl in Nahuatl (*).
(*) Nahuatl : Le nahuatl, dont le nom dérive probablement du against « nāhuatlahtōlli », est une macro-langue de la famille uto-aztèque.
