Barba di frate: Barba di frate (Italian words meaning "monk's beard") is a succulent vegetable (family Chenopodiaceae), wild or cultivated, growing on the coasts of the Mediterranean also called common soda (See Common soda).
It is most often eaten cooked to make salads or as an accompaniment to meats.
