Chénopode: Chénopodes (pronounced kénopodes) are a genus of dicotyledonous plants, of the family Amaranthaceae or Chenopodiaceae, depending on the classification of botanists. The genus owes its name to the resemblance of the leaves of the species to the trace of a crow's foot (from the scientific Latin chenopodium, formed from the Greek words πόδῖον [little foot] and χήν,-νός [goose]) .
