Celosia: Celosia are annual plants belonging to the genus Celosia (Amaranthaceae family) some species of which are cultivated as vegetable plants, for their edible leaves like spinach or for their seeds, but they are mainly cultivated as ornamental plants for their flowering in spectacular spikes in the shape of a mauve, purple or orange feather duster.
Some species are common weeds in cultivated fields.
