Bryonia: The bryony (Cucurbitaceae family - Botanical name: Bryonia dioica) (from the ancient Greek βρὐον / brúon, "flower") is a perennial herbaceous plant by its root. It is a climbing plant for hedges, with red and black berries. Its fleshy root is starchy and strongly laxative.
