Black bean: The black bean is a bean (Fabaceae family), slightly reniform (kidney-shaped) and completely black.
It is rarely found outside the United States, Central America and Mexico, where it originates.
This legume is used extensively in Mexican cuisine, especially for refried frijoles, burritos and enchiladas.
