Young: adj. “Young” describes something that is young in age.
A young chicken. Young shoots.
Or which is new, recent: an eau-de-vie that is too young.
A young cheese is opposed to a ripened cheese.
A young wine can designate a wine of the year already at its optimum, as well as a wine having passed its first year but not having yet developed all these qualities. It is therefore a wine that has not aged enough....
