Umami: nm Umami (word pronounced oumami) is a sensation or flavor introduced by the Japanese saying that umami was "the" fifth flavor which is neither salty, nor sweet, nor sour, nor bitter and whose liquorice would be the representative.
Etymology: The word Umami is made up of two parts:
"uma" 旨 and "mi" 味
