Chew: v.tr. (word coming from the imperial Latin masticar).
“Chewing” is grinding, crushing with the teeth, by the movement of the jaws, before swallowing (or gulping).
Chewing bread, meat.
It is also said to chew.
To chew again is to chew again. Ruminants chew ingested grass again.
