Konjac: nm Konjac is a thickening food additive derived from a tuber flour (Amorphophallus konjac K.Koch) of Chinese origin which became known through Japan and its traditional culinary preparation, konnyaku (See Konnayaku under the Konjac plant). It is served there in gelled blocks (hot pot) and even transformed into cellophane noodles (called shirataki in Japan) after an alkaline preparation.
