180 ° C maximum for most oils
170 ° C maximum for sunflower oil and corn germ oil
160 ° C maximum for grape seed oil
Rule for converting ° F and ° C
To convert degrees Fahrenheit to degrees centigrade (or Celsius), subtract 32, multiply by 5, and divide by 9 (Degrees Celsius = (degrees Fahrenheit - 32) x 5/9).
Example: 400 ° F = (400-32) * 5/9 = 204 ° C.
Conversely, to convert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit, multiply by 9 divide by 5 and add 32 (Degree Fahrenheit = (degree centigrade x 9/5) + 32).
Example: 200 ° C = 200 * 9/5 + 32 = 392 ° F.
Weight
Small reminder of French measures
1 gram (g) = 0,001 kilogram (kg)
10 grams (g) = 0,01 kilogram (kg)
100 grams (g) = 0,1 kilogram (kg)
1 grams (g) = 000 kilogram (kg)
American measures
Weight :
1 solid ounce (oz) = 28,35 grams (g) = 0,02835 kilogram (kg)
1 pound (lb) = 16 ounces (oz) = 453,59 grams (g) = 0,4536 kilogram (kg)
2,20 pounds (lb) = 1 kilogram (kg) = 1 grams (g)
1 ton (t) = 2 pounds (lb) = 204 kg
Some equivalences in cup:
Flour: 1 cup = 130 grams (g)
Sugar: 1 cup = 245 grams (g)
Butter: 1 cup = 240 grams (g)
Chocolate chips: 1 cup = 125 grams (g)
Hazelnuts: 1 cup = 100 grams (g)
Cocoa (cocoa): 1/2 cup = 60 grams (g)
Volumes
Small reminder of French measures:
- cubic meter and its variation (dm3, cm3, mm3)
- liter and its declination (we can indicate the kiloliter, hectolitre, decalitre, liter, deciliter, centiliter and milliliter)
1 liter (l) = 10 deciliters (dl) = 100 centiliters (cl) = 1000 milliliters (ml):
- teaspoon
- tablespoon or dessert spoon
- cup (0,25 l)
Anglo-Saxon measures:
Liquid US gallon = US fluid gallon = (US) gal
US dry gallon = US dry gallon = US dry gal
American pint liquid = pint US fluid = pt (US fl)
American dry pint = US dry pint = pt (US dry)
US quart liquid = US quart fluid = qt (US fl)
US dry quarter = US dry quarter = qt (US dry)
Liquid US ounce = US ounce fluid = US fl oz
American cup = US cup
American table spoon = US tablespoon (tbsp)
American teaspoon = US teaspoon (tsp)
To offer the same measures, but English (UK) add 20% to the US liquid measures.
Some equivalences:
1 American gallon (US gal) = 4 quarts (qt) = 3,785 liters
1/4 gallon (qt) = 2 pints (pt) = 4 cups = 0,946 liters
1 pint = (pt) = 16 ounces (fl.oz) = 0,473 liter
1 fluid ounce (fl.oz.) = 29,56 milliliters = 0,0296 liters
1 cup = 8 fluid ounces (fl. Oz.) = 16 tablespoon (tbsp) = 48 teaspoon (tsp)
1 US teaspoon (tsp, equivalent of our teaspoon) = 5 milliliters (ml) = 0,005 liter (l)
1 US tablespoon (tbsp, equivalent of our tablespoon) = 15 milliliters (ml) = 0,015 liter (l)
1 cup (equivalent to 2 ordinary glasses) = 236 milliliters (ml) = 0,24 liter (l) or approximately 1/4 liter
