Verviers cake: Verviers cake (called Mitcho in Walloon) is a pastry specialty of the city of Verviers (French-speaking city of Belgium located in the Walloon Region).
It consists of a leavened dough rich in butter and eggs, and pearl sugar. It is made with slivered almonds and sometimes with macaroons.
It is suitable for breakfast or afternoon tea with hot chocolate or as a dessert.
