Þamatur (Icelandic cuisine): þorramatur refers to a set of dishes from traditional Icelandic cuisine. These dishes are most often eaten during the ancient Nordic month of þorri, or "dry months" in January and February, especially during the winter festival of þorrablót (*), a gastronomic and commercial event created on the initiative of a restaurant in 1958, based on old festivities of this name.
