
Skewer : A skewer is a large needle, usually in stainless steel (but they are found on skewers in wood which are for single use), serving to skewer elements trimmed en parts (meat, offal, fish, vegetables, sea food et shellfish, fruits frais,…) to cook them in grill visit us at the barbecue or on embers.
The elements are oils, and most fragile (shellfish, for example), wrapped in a maintenance slice de bacon skinny.
The word also designates the preparation itself, i.e. the main elements skewered, optionally intercalated with complementary ingredients. Skewers are more tender if the ingredients have macerated ou Marine with someoil seasoned, sometimes perfumed de Herbs orherbs of Provence,garlic orcalvados.
The dishes, presented threaded on the skewer where they cooked, are served in appetizers hot or like flat major. The Sauces accompaniments are the same as those used with the grill or fondue (In Pepper, béarnaise, tartare, aioli,..). Skewers are very popular in some countries.
