Sii (Swiss pastry): The sii is a dessert from the canton of Valais. It is a compote made from bread (often rye) and elderberry juice. It is prepared with red wine (from Dôle du Valais), dark raisins and served with lots of lightly whipped fresh cream.
In Lower Valais, this purely Swiss specialty is served under the name “Sii”, but in Upper Valais it is called Hollermües.
