Shiro (Ethiopian cuisine): Shiro is a stew made from chickpea flour. It is often garnished with onions, garlic, chilli and various spices. Shiro is usually served over injera. It is a typical dish of the days during which the consumption of animal products is prohibited by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
