Varnish (shell): The varnish is a marine bivalve shell of sandy bottoms, (Vénéridae family), like clams and clams, which knows the same preparations as these. Its large reddish-brown shells (6 to 10 cm) are smooth and shiny, with a glazed appearance, marked with dark radiating bands.
The varnish is also called fawn varnish, red clam or large clam.
