Tart (pastry): A tart (for several guests) or a tartlet (reduced variation for a single consumer) is a preparation for cooking or pastry, often round and flat, consisting of a base of dough serving as a support, before or after cooking, to a filling which can be sweet or salty, which is generally surrounded by a chiqued rim.
