Pageot (fish) : The pageot is a saltwater fish teleost (which has a completely ossified skeleton, with homocercal caudal fin -with two equal lobes-) of the Sparidae family, close to sea bream, also called: pagelle, pagel, pageau.
The pink sea bream (or rousseau) is a pageot. Pageot is fished in the Mediterranean and in the Bay of Biscay. In the shape of a stocky spindle, it is however distinguished from sea bream by its rectilinear belly. 30 to 50 centimeters long, it has a darker pink back, and weighs up to 1 kg.
On accommodate the pageot like the dorade, but its chair is significantly less tasty.
