Oyakodon (Japanese cuisine): Oyakodon (親子丼 literally "parent-child donburi"), is a Japanese donburi (rice bowl), in which chicken, egg slices, spring onions (and sometimes onions ), and other ingredients are all simmered together in a sort of soup made from soy sauce and broth, then served over a large bowl of rice. The name of the dish is a poetic reflection of the chicken and egg used in the dish.
