Muge (fish): The muge is the name of the mullet in the south-west of France, also called mule, and, locally, meuille or meuil. This fish, which can sometimes be seen under the hulls of boats moored in the port, as in La Rochelle, does not always enjoy the esteem of consumers, but is appreciated by "enlightened" amateurs.
It is prepared like mullet, pan-fried or baked.
