Lap (Thai cuisine): Lap (Lao ລາບ; Thai ลาบ; lâːp, sometimes transcribed larb or laab) is a traditional dish of Laos and Isan (northeastern Thailand). It is a hash, usually strongly peppered, which is eaten with sticky rice.
There are several varieties:
- the fish lap
- the cooked lap (beef, pork, chicken, duck or game)
- raw lap
- the lap of pig or duck blood.
