Kerisik (Asian cuisine): Kerisik is a condiment used in Indonesian, Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine. The coconut is grated, toasted, and then ground into a paste. It is sometimes called coconut butter. It can be made at home or bought ready-made. It is used in dishes such as kerabu and rendang.
It's not easy to find outside of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, and will likely only be found in grocery stores.
