Burong mangga (Filipino cuisine): Burong mangga is a Filipino condiment and side dish prepared by mixing sugar, salt and water with pre-salted mangoes. The water and sugar mixture must first be boiled and cooled, before pouring it over the salted mangoes. Some variations add chili peppers to the cooled sugar water mixture.
The original "basic" mangga burong is made using a brine solution and poured over uncooked mangoes.
