Bireweck: Bireweck (“baerewecke” in Alsatian) is an Alsatian cake also called “fruit bread”.
It is made of leavened dough flavored with kirsch, to which we incorporate fresh fruits, dried fruits and candied fruits.
Usually shaped into small balls, it can also be cooked in one large piece and eaten in slices. It is mainly found during the holiday season.
