Açorda: Originally from the Alentejo (province south of Lisbon), açorda is a Portuguese soup that is part of the large family of recipes designed for periods of scarcity (lack, insufficient food).
Made from stale bread and poached eggs, açorda is still a popular dish in Portugal, found in a more luxurious version, enriched, for example, with cod or shrimp.
