Snack: nf A snack is a light meal that Catholics ate on fasting days. In modern language, a snack is a quick meal, often taken outside of normal meal times, for example upon returning from work, but which can be relatively substantial.
The word "snack" comes from Latin snack, "Rapprochement", which designated a pious meeting after which the monks took some food.
