Bento: “Bento” is a Japanese term for a quick meal taken away from home, contained in a box (bento boko). This mode of restoration appeared in the middle of the century. The most popular bento box these days is the Japanese flag (hinomoru bento): it contains rice, a umeboshi (plum) in the center, tsukemono (vegetables preserved in salt), some vegetables.
Traditionally in lacquered wood, the bento beko is now available in synthetic resin or in a single-use tray.
