The name derives from the initials of the first letters of the words Zabaglione (another Italian name for eggnog ; in French sabayon) and Obov.
History: Zabov was registered in 1946 under the name Zabov Egg Cognac and the recipe was designed by Mauro Moccia (father of Luigi Moccia, founder of Moccia Distillery with his brother-in-law Franco Simoni), with the intention of creating a new liqueur withœuf who knew how to differentiate themselves from liqueurs competitors.
