White Merlot: White Merlot (or merlau) is a grape variety of Bordeaux origin. It was mainly grown in the Graves, Blayais and Bourgeais region. Merlot Blanc is the result of a cross between Folle Blanche and Merlot Noir.
The white Merlot, however fertile and productive, is a grape variety that is now in decline and is no longer replanted. Its production area now represents only 176 hectares.
Its clusters are made up of juicy, pale-coloured berries.
