Screw cap: locut. Light metal cap that allows the bottle to be opened by unscrewing the cap. It has the advantage of avoiding the taste of cork. Widely used in California, the screw cap was used in France until now for wines for everyday consumption. A Burgundy grand cru, a 2005 Chambertin, was corked (encapsulated) in this way for the first time by Maison Jean-Claude Boisset in order to better preserve its freshness and fruitiness.
