Limestone with entroques: Limestone with entroques is a type of limestone that is frequently found in Burgundy, and in particular near Pouilly and Roche de Solutré. It is characterized by the presence of numerous marine fossils of the crinoid family. It is the segments (stems, arms) of these animals that are referred to as entrochus.
Nowadays, among the closest representatives of crinoids (belonging to the same taxon of Echinodermata), we find starfish and bears.
