Lager (beer): The word lager is a generic term which designates beers with bottom fermentation (*). We distinguish lagers according to their dress: pale lagers, amber lagers and brown lagers.
The term “lager” comes from the word lagern, meaning “to store” in German, the bottom fermentation being followed by a cold storage phase that lasted a few months - today, a few weeks.
