– in 92, by the Domitian edict which covered all of Gaul;
– in 1395, by the ducal edict of Philippe Le Hardi to uproot all Gamay and melon plants in Burgundy;
– in 1731, by royal edict throughout the kingdom to clean up the vineyards destroyed by the frost of the great winter of 1709;
