Silico-gravelly: adj. Geologically speaking, this sandy-gravelly nourishing soil is the ultimate for vines. It is composed of the association of a siliceous soil in a gravel environment:
sandy or siliceous soils, made up of more or less coarse grains of silica. The non-clumping sand gives the soil an airy structure and a yellowish color. Siliceous soil is generally poorer and more acidic than calcareous soil.
