Grand Cru Classé: locut. In the AOC system, the mention "Grand Cru Classé", strictly controlled, is reserved for certain Médoc wines classified as Premiers Crus, Seconds Crus, Third Crus, Fourth Crus and Fifth Crus and for Sauternes wines attributed during the classification of 1855 .
This mention also concerns Saint-Émilion with a three-level hierarchy:
Premier Grands Crus classified A,
Premier Grands Crus classified B
Classified Grands Crus.
