Fox-grape: The fox-grape (or Fox or Foxy) is the familiar name of the Vitis labrusca which grows wild in the Northeast and
in the north-central United States. Its grapes have an odd flavor, vaguely raspberry on first contact with the mouth, but
followed by a very pungent aftertaste. We can make wine from it, but we find the same taste and the same aroma.
These peculiarities have nothing in common with the 'fox' and this variety of vine is called fox-rape because it lives in a wild state.
