Duras: Duras is a black grape variety, mainly used in Gaillac in the south-west of France; he would also be from the Tarn.
The bunches of duras are more or less large with medium berries and little juice. This variety is particularly fond of poor, sandy and chalky soils. A beautiful exposure to the sun is important for its good maturity. Susceptible to disease but productive, Duras is often blended with Fer Servadou, Merlot or Syrah.
